sitting in a church service this morning and the pastor pleaded with the congregation to prayerfully give to the capital campaign for the new church building going up in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The plea was specifically for new chairs, the elevator, and audio-visual equipment, totalling in the thousands and thousands of dollars. why so much money to build a worship centre to honor a God who doesn’t dwell in buildings made by human hands? and why so much money for a building in one of the poorest countries in Asia?
i believe in walking like Jesus did. i’m just not sure the newest buildings and equipment are going to make other people want to be his followers too.
